TT:  Blackout

“Raven?”  Her eyes flew open and she looked about her room, but did not see anyone there.  “Raven?..”

The voice was not coming from outside, but echoed about in her mind.  She closed her eyes and crossed her legs and screamed at him at the top of her mind, for she knew he scarce could hear her, “Robin?  Where are you?”

“I don't know; I can't see, hear, or taste anything.  You have to find me; you have to save me.”

“I'll...” but before she could continue, he had cut her off.

“No, don't.  They won't be able to help a frontal assault and...”

“You want to know who they are and why they've captured you.”

“I told you we always had a connection.”

“Is that how...”

“I can't think of any other reason.  As if when you went in my head some part of me imprinted upon you...”

“Or you on me.”  For a moment, just a moment, the conversation paused and Raven could see his lips approaching hers.  Her cheeks blushed and for that instant.  She tried to push him from her mind, but then worry for her friend consumed her.  If they lost their connection then she would be unable to find him.  She cowered in pain as her vanity might just have cost her friend his life, “No... No!”

“Raven...”  Her heart, beating furiously in her chest, and for an instant nearly stopped.  Her lungs felt heavy and her face felt on fire, but she was not going to risk losing him again, just because of a single one of her errant thoughts, or how much she had wished for it to come true.

“Robin!”, her mind cried as she reached out into the darkness.

“Don't worry, I'm still here.”  The image of herself inside her mind began to dance around with glee, something that she never did on the outside.  When she had gone inside his mind she saw parts of him she had never seen before, she figured it was only fair for him to see her.  She felt naked, and every phrase that appeared in her mind formed a tawdry image of impeccable clarity; she felt him smirking, though she did not know how she could know this.  “Your conciousness might have tried to push me out of your mind, but your sub-concious would not allow this.”  He always knew just what to say, how to say it, and when to trail off into the dust.  She could never tell him how she truly felt, but for this moment at least, he knew.

She remembered the time she had spent in Starfire's body, and the joy of flight she had felt.  She floated up and flapped her wings and flew through the ceiling in a joyous spiral.  She danced about from road to roof as her giddiness seemed to take over.  Just as her emotions were plain to him, his were also plain to her.  He returned the feelings that she had kept bottled up for so long, and this is what allowed her to flitter about so daintily.

She followed the beacon  to where Robin lay caged an in chains, but she felt as if his spirit flew along with her.  He replied to her, once again in her head, “He taught me to meditate when I was young, something that he had picked up from his tutors in the East.”  The moment he said this, she know who 'He' was, something that all of the Titans knew but was never once uttered, muttered, or mentioned in passing.  It did not matter what his name was, but who he was to Robin, and with their minds together, she knew it as well.  He had answered her unasked question, but his answer to her next was far simpler, “No.”

He didn't feel any hate, any animosity for his old teacher, for his adoptive father.  “You were taught and protected but the monks of Azarath, I was taught and protected by him.  You don't need to have a heavy heart...”

“But, you forget, that we are sharing minds.  I feel what you feel.”

“And the other way around.”  This caused her to blush again, one so powerful that her whole body felt alight.  To this he merely smirked once again.  As she recovered from her psychic humiliation, she felt him opening up parts of his minds that she had not known before.  He was far more skilled then he let on, and she saw what would be called his true self.  He had set up false layers in his mind, and as he opened them it was like peeling an onion.  His emotions became stronger the deeper she went, but the strongest of them all was what he felt for her.  Her sombre mood suddenly became uplifted, “Ma cherie, je t'aime, and I know you feel the same way in return.”  She felt blown away but the skill with which he suppressed his emotions.  “No, not suppressed, my beautiful.  The trick is not to suppress your emotions or even to control them but to feel them in all their all of their intensity and then guide them on their path.”

She felt his emotions boil forth, as he twisted and guided them, ever with her in his wake.  Her pulled her spirit up along with his and held her as he guided his emotions.  He took her hand as they danced in each other's thoughts, and tought her how to ride the waves.  She passed through the walls without so much as a passing thought and cut his bonds and removed his helm.  With his body battered and nearly broken, it was amazing that his spirit could remain so strong.  She took his broken body in her arms and left as easily as she had came, as if unbounded by reality, as if unbounded by anything other than Robin's own internal world.

She carried him as if he were some wounded child and flew with theretofore unseen haste back to the Titans Tower.  She cleaned his cuts and bandaged his bruises, all the while with him enduring his now beaten body.  As the pain went on he forced it to the back of his mind, and looked up to the beauty sitting above him.  The light reflected off her beautiful, pale skin, and the pain no longer seemed to matter.  His body's flush was matched by hers as the finally met in each other's arms.  Their lips pursed and met in a most passionate kiss, as if their entire lives and loves in this kiss did they out pour, but they were not alone.  Another had heard Robin's cries of pain and come to his room to comfort him, but she was not prepared for what she had seen.  In this one moment, the dynamics of the tower had been changed forever.
My first actual completed piece of fanfiction, (first time I've used some one else's characters).

So, to start off, Robin, Raven, and Starfire and anything else © and ™ of DC and WB, (I've never read the comics; I'm a fan of the animated series).

I've decided to make this a 5-parter:
Blackout; Consideration; Journey; Complication; Consolidation.

This is a RxR story, and to avoid any shipping flames, (should I be lucky enough to actually get pageviews), I'll start off my listing my opinion on the relationships. Robin and Raven have the most complicated, seemingly deep-run relationship in the show; I view pairing them together as a most obvious choice and as a simple extension of this relationship. I won't argue with people who are for Starfire x Robin, as the relationship is the only romantic one shown in the tv show. It is my contention, however, that this is more of a surface romance and does not run as deeply as Robin x Raven. My pick for Starfire is Beastboy. They share a powerful love / hate relationship, (Forces of Nature, anyone?), and in fact seem to be a perfect match. BB can change from a cute kitten cuddling in her arms to a hawk or an eagle and enjoy the joy of flight with her. They are both light-hearted and playful and would create a powerful, dynamic relationship. Now, so as Cyborg is not left out in the rain by himself, let's take the Terra from 'Things Change'. They both have a strong urge to feel normal and they fulfill this with each-other. BB is facinated over Cyborg's cybernetics and robin is great at teaching him to balance his halves, but the reincarnated Terra, whatever she wants to call herself, makes him feel normal, and he does the same to her in return. As a typical, strait male I dislike the male/male combinations and like the female/female ones. For the former I can argue that there were no indications given of such in the show, (this is not kirk/spock or bilbo/sam we are talking about here). As for the latter, Raven and Starfire have shared intimate moments, if neither romantic nor sexual. I do, however, have a fertile imagination and find it easy to take this relationship a little further.

This is a lead into what I am calling Titans Ever After, a complete, cohesive world that speculates on the consequences of my decisions and of the world, and complete with the introduction of my own original characters.

This was wonderful and very well-written. I loved it.

And I agree with you about Robin/Starfire. I honestly think it's just a shallow infatuation that they'll eventually get over, very unlike the deep relationship that Robin and Raven have. And while I don't hate it either, I just don't think they're meant to be.

Robin and Raven, however, are different. Though they might not express their love for each other as much as Robin would with Starfire, I believe they truly care for each other deeply. They simply understand each other very well and have a bond so much deeper and more complex than the mental one they share. I think that were they to commit to a long-term relationship, they would surely last for a long time.

I absolutely just love this pairing and I'm looking forward to reading the next parts of your series.
